Does anyone know the origin and/ or meaning of the surname Mainka? The first known person in my family with this last name was a Polish-speaking man who lived in Silesia (then part of Prussia) around 1830.

Mainka is found all over Poland and Germany, and is derived from Manomir which is composed of Proto-Slavic maniti 'to lure, deceive' and mir 'peace'.
