[Opinions] India
I've liked India since reading Gone With the Wind. The character was boring, but I liked her name. Do you think it's usable? I know it has been used for a long time but that there is a country of the same name is kind of holding me back a little. I wonder if people living there would find it weird or offensive to meet a person with the same name as their country. I know I'd find it weird if someone were named America or Germany, but you probably get used to it. Opinions?

One of my best friends is called India-Rose :)
I'm not a huge fan of place names being used on people.
I know of a subset Taj(m)and India(f). Cheesy, don't you think so?

I like it, and don't think there would be a problem with using it.
I must confess I like China better, though.

You're right, India was boring but her name she was pretty! There's also a singer by the name of India.
I think it's usable but I don't really mind place names. And I know a girl named America and she doesn't go by any nicknames. Most people don't bat an eye but if they do have a reaction, it isn't even a strong one. Germany seems a little weirder... probably because it's not a pretty sound. I've also met a girl named Italie. Bad spelling but Italy would be pretty, too.
I don't think people in India would care.

Sure, it's usable.
I know an 8-year-old girl named India.
