Hello all.

So, I'm in love with Lyosha as a nickname. However, the character I'm writing for is called Alexei rather than Aleksey. Can I get away with using Lyosha anyway?

Like Phoebe said, it's the same name. I prefer the nickname Alyosha, but Lyosha will do ;-)

Yes, you can use it. Alexei is variant transcription of Aleksey. It's the same name, just spelled differently.
