[Opinions] Wilfred
I've been loving Wilfred lately. Not sure why but its just crept into my mind.
Nickname either Wilf or Freddie. I hate Wil/Will so that will never happen!Does it fit with our current favorites?
Theodore "Teddy" and DaphneOther names we like are: Beatrice, Rowena, Winifred (obviously not with Wilfred), Barnaby, AbrahamWhat would you name Wilfreds brothers and sisters?

I think that Wilfred might be too far gone in the US. But it seems to be doing quite well in the UK. I think it's very handsome, although Wilf is a little silly sounding. I think it goes well with your other names, especially Theodore, Beatrice and Barnaby.

Ooh! I'd love Teddy and Wilfred and Rowena and Beatrice!Freddie is excellent, except with Teddy. Barnaby is excellent too, but not with Beatrice, which I would not willingly omit.Actually, all your suggestions (maybe not Daphne and Abraham so much) make me think of 1920s tennis parties, with the girls in white stockings and the boys in very stripey club ties. And tea and cake later, on the lawn.

I think it fits very well with your other favourites.I don't know what I would name Wilfred's siblings, but I thought I'd share Swedish comedian Annika Andersson's children's names, as her youngest is the only Wilfred I know of. Her other children are Caroline, Carl Oscar and Alexander.

I adore Wilfred, and I think it complements your other favorites well.

I think Wilfred fits with Theodore, but not so much with Daphne. I like it with Beatrice or Rowena though. And I ADORE Winifred. I was like this close to being named Winifred, but my dad vetoed at the last minute.

Oh, I forgot:Wilfred does fit in with Teddy and Daphne. You have reawaken my love for Daphne and Rowena and you're pushing me closer to Theodore "Teddy". I think all of your names go exceptionally well together. I don't know who his siblings would be. That would require a clearer mind than mine at the moment.

I really want to like him. I see him with his rumpled plaid shirt and boyish smile. I see him clearly and I really want to like him. But the other Wilfreds are taking over. They're standing in front of good Wilfred so I only see the bad:That TV show "Wilfred" where a dude can somehow see the dog as a human. Elijah Wood is in the American version. I think the original is Australian? Perhaps? Anyway, it's weird and I don't like it and I hate the forever playing commercials for the show. That's what good Wilfred is standing against. Stupid TV.

I adore Wilfred's fusty charm. And the nn Wilf is adorable. Much better than boring old Wil / Will. Nn Freddie is great too. :-)Wilf / Wilfred and Daphne is a tad "f" heavy under one roof. I'm not sure why Freddie and Daphne doesn't bother me the same way. Perhaps it's the shared placement at or near the end of the name that irks my ears. But it wouldn't be a deal breaker. My dh has brothers Tim and Tom. It never seems to have hampered them so I must be a quibbling namenerd. (Who knew?)Teddy and Freddie I definitely wouldn't do. I know my BIL survived the similarity. But a namenerd like you would be bothered, I should think. Teddy, Daphne and Wilf -- now that's a fine trio.Beatrice -- A consort battleship. Love her. Rowena -- Gloriously medieval. At least in an Ivanhoe-ish way. Rowena is romantic.Winifred -- Darling, sensible shoes Winifred. Does she have any clue how adorable she is? Barnaby -- Fun loving Barnaby is invited to all the parties. He's always welcome wherever he goes. A good friend, too.Abraham -- A tad on the strict side, is Abraham. I suppose nn Abe should soften him up for me. But I've never really gotten in to him -- as a name. :-/ Well, not as long as there are other candidates like Wilfred and Barnaby.

Ah im glad you like it! Still have to run it by hubby, but he seems to love crusty old man names as much as I do.I'm just lacking a bit of love for Theodore at the moment.. I worry about its popularity :( I've only ever met two Theo's and they were just Theo, not Theodore. Abraham and Wilfred are two new ones im tossing around. My husbands mother wanted to name him Abraham, instead he got the ever boring David Matthew (he detests Matthew). For the girl names he likes Daphne the most probably followed by Winifred. He doesn't like Rowena :( But I love it.Got any more suggestions?
