I had a boss named Fabian once. Everyone called him Fabian, no nn. We were all very friendly. It wasn't because he was our boss / co-worker. He just didn't need a nn.

So it's not as avoidable as with some names.

And I agree with you on Frederick. :-D I'm hoping against hope that Frederica could benefit in a small way. (Well, a girl can dream . . . . )

I saw a notice for a Lydia Frederica not too long ago - and fell in love with that combo!
