[Opinions] Sadie & Jack
Can anyone think of any names that the nickname Sadie could go with? I am already aware of Sarah, but am now trying to think outside the box incase Sarah doesn't work. Also, do you think Jack works well on its own and not as a nickname for John, Johnathan, Jackson, etc? Does it lack substance? If used, it would be a middle name.

I knew a Sadie once whose full name was Mercedes dunno if that helps lol I think Jack depends on how long Sadie's full name is. I like Jonathan, though wouldn't automatically think Jack

Sadie is now almost always given as the full name, so I don't think there's any need to agonize over having a "full" name. Jack is also very common as a full name and has been for a long time. I know an old man called Jackie whose full name is Jacob, so that might work.Jack as a middle name is all right but you run a fairly high risk of the combo sounding hillbilly. But if you only want Jack as the middle name, and aren't planning to use Jack in referring or speaking to him, there's no reason to give a middle name that's any other name than Jack. If his name is William Jack, for instance, you call him William or Bill or Will. (Not Billy Jack; see what I mean about the middle name?) If you want to call him Jack, just make Jack or John or Jacob the first name all along.

I think Jack is just fine on its own, even as a first name. It's not all that different from John or James.I have no suggestions for Sadie, unfortunately.

I like Isadora for Sadie. Really not keen on Jack, mainly because it's uber-popular.

I really like Isadora as a fn for Sadie. I think it actually works well. Thats funny about Jack. I never hear it around here. Even though you aren't keen on it, do you still think it could work on its own or that it always should be a nn?

Don't hear it much in Finland, but it seems every other baby in Scotland where we lived before is called Jack.
