I like it and far prefer it to Anthony. I've never met an Anton, and there are Anthonys up the wazoo here.

Love it. It's a handsome, strong sounding name.

I don't love it because it reminds me of Anton Du Beke, who I find smarmy and annoying. I prefer Antony, it sounds more traditional.

They're a dime a dozen where I live - not that we have dimes, but we do have dozens! I far prefer it to both Ant(h)ony and Tony.

I like it. It's never been popular where I live though, so I don't know if it's dated or overused or anything.

It's not my style. I immediately link it to Anton Geesink, the first non-Japanese man to win the World Judo Championships, but that's not a bad association, at least not for me (but thatt's probably because I'm a judoka).

I like it; I think it's a good alternative to Anthony because it's shorter and more masculine-sounding.

Well, first thought:"Make of our lives,
one life.
Day after day,
one life."I automatically think of West Side Story. Everyone does, really. Anton is a great name, and gives many nick names. Tony, Anty, Ton. Annie, maybe. It's a great sounding name, a little ethnic, but not especially out there. People will recognize it, and it you have a kid who realizes the meaning he may be annoyed. Especially if he knows a girl named Maria. People may make fun of him for that. But all in all, I love it! Love the sound, the connotations, the spelling. It's a great name.
