[Opinions] Elliotte and Herriotte
I used to like the name Elliot for av boy, but it has become pretty popular here, so I grew tired of it. Then, the other day, I thought: "Elliotte would actually sound sweet on a girl!" Apparently it has been used.
Then today I saw a book by lovely James Herriot and thought: "I wonder if Herriotte would work as a first name? It does sound like Harriet...but maybe it's too close to the word herring?"
What do you think? Usable or awful? (I'm not planning to use them, I just want to know what you think!)

Do you prn Elliotte like Elliot?
I think they are both hideous to be honest. There are girls in Sweden named Elliot, so that spelling would work. But I really don't like Elliot on a girl. I'd rather see Ellie, Eleanor or something along those lines.
Herriotte...I think I will cry my eyes out if I actually saw/heard it IRL.

No, I don't think so. If you like Elliot on a girl, I don't really see any problem with it. It's a bit trendy, but not in the worst possible way. It's neither lacking in dignity nor overly masculine, at least in my opinion.Herriotte is just awful. Sorry.

I like your style. I like your reasoning skills. Nice balance of positions. "A" for effort. Um. But. Well. No. No to Elliotte and Herriotte.
I do love those James Herriot stories as well. They're great on CD while driving.

Would you pronounce Elliotte like Elliot? I would say it more like ell-i-OTTE. It's kind of cute, in theory.I'm not a fan of Herriotte but I guess it's usable.

Elliot or Eliot or Elliott is fine on a boy, but seems tryndee on a girl. Elliotte looks dumb and contrived.
Herriotte looks even dumber. Harriet isn't that great a name to start with and Herriotte just looks like you're trying way too hard.

Confession: Elliette (this spelling only) is a GP of mine. I really like it and I wish more people would use it instead of Elliot. I see it as a feminine form of Elliot, like Jamesina is a feminine form of James. Herriotte is terrible. Yes, it reminds me of herring. Harriet and Henrietta are better.
