Magdalene is waaaay too Catholically loaded for me to ever be able to like it. It's not even the kind of name, like Bridget or Mary, that an ordinary Catholic person would give their daughter. It's the kind of name a nun would take.

I like both Magdalene and Magdalena. I adore the nickname Magda.

Magdalene is beautiful, it is pretty and classic, it's elaborate but has a lot of great nickname choices, Maggie, Lena, Magda, etc. I go back and forth about whether I would find it too religious for my own personal use.

I really like it! Magdalena is my preference, but Magdalene is really pretty and so refined! Susannah and Magdalene go perfectly together.
