[Opinions] New Swedish royal baby on the way!
Swedish princess Madeleine (Madeleine Thérèse Amelie Josephine) and her husband Chris O'Neill (Christopher Paul) have announced that they're expecting a baby in March! (Nine months after their wedding ...) I don't know if you're tired of royal naming, but still, this is another royal house, so ... ;)So, the baby's name obviously has to work in Swedish, but also in English as Chris is British and the couple resides in New York. (Chris's mother is Austrian and Madeleine's mother is German, but I don't think they consider how the name would work in German that much.)FAMILY NAMES:
Madeleine's parents are Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus and Silvia Renate. Her siblings are Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée (married to Olof Daniel, daughter Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary) and Carl Philip Edmund Bertil (girlfriend Sofia Kristina). Her grandparents were Gustaf Adolf Oscar Fredrik Arthur Edmund, Sibylla Calma Marie Alice Bathildis Feodora, Walther and Alice.
A more extensive genealogy for Madeleine's father can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancestry_of_Carl_XVI_Gustaf_of_SwedenChris's parents are Paul Cesario and Eva Maria. His half-sisters on his father's side are Annalisa, Stefanie and Karen (one of them has a son Oliver); his half-sisters on his mother's side are Tatjana Maria Margareta Nina (married to John Henry Erland, children Anoushka Maria Violet, Celina Maria Isabel, Jasper Henry Erland) and Natascha (married to Ernst, children Milana Maria, Moritz, Chiara and Louis Cajetan). His paternal grandparents were Paul Holian and Josephine, his maternal grandparents' names have been kept private.Any ideas? :) I'll post mine separately ...

Sooo, considering Victoria named the heir Estelle, this less important baby could be named pretty much anything ... Anything that's still fit for royal circles, at least. For first names I'm thinking something like ...
Amelie, Aurora, Clara, Eleanor, Elise, Elsa, Evangeline, Genevieve, Josephine, Lilian, Louise, Norah, Pauline, Penelope, Rosalie
Alexander, Arthur, August, Axel, Carl, Edmund, Edward, Henry, Hugo, Oscar, Theodore, Walter, Wilhelm
Some family names, some that just seemed the right style. Several are already taken by friends and family, but they might not care.Maria seems to be a big family name on Chris's side. So if this baby is a girl, she will probably get that as one of her middles. I'm guessing Josephine as a middle too, since it's one of Madeleine's, and also Chris's grandmother's name.Carl is a likely middle name for a boy. Maybe Walter/Walther too - it was Madeleine's grandfather's name, and also Chris's mother's maiden name, and there's seems to be have been a tradition in the O'Neill family to give family surnames as middle names.I'm also guessing that this baby, not being that royal, might have only three names instead of the usual four.

I don't know. I think a girl will be named something frilly, yet traditional. If you know what I mean. Annabelle, Eleonora, Julianna, Marianne, for example. A boy will also have a traditional name. Maybe Alexander. What I want:
First names: Eleonora, Lovisa (or Louisa?), Lillian, Alice, Alexander, Oscar
Possible middle names: Lillian, Renate, Alice, Maria, Oscar, Carl, Paul, Christopher, Gustaf, FolkeCombos:
Eleonora Alice Maria Renate
Alexander Paul Folke ???They'll probably surprise us like Victoria and Daniel did. ;) Edit: I don't think they'll go with Carl anywhere in the name. Because I, for some reason, think Victoria and Daniel are going to use that name if they ever have a son. Carl Oscar, Carl Johan and Carl Vilhelm are "taken" by them (in my mind) :P

Yeah, frilly but traditional for a girl is exactly what I thought as well.My sister commented that if it was Madeleine that had named her child Estelle, it might have been much more praised - hounouring another American in the family and everything!

I just read it. Can't say I'm surprised that they're having a baby already.I have no idea what names they will use. I can see Paul as a MN if it's a boy, but other than that, no idea. They don't even have to use family names, and to be perfectly honest, I doubt that they will. But..Maybe Edvard/Edward? For some reason I think it's a boy.
A girl? Gee. I'm not even gonna guess.
