It's definitely not making any comeback here. The only Beatrice I ever knew would be in her nineties if she was still alive. My husband went to school with a Beatrice, she was from Jamaica or some other Caribbean place.
I think Bea is a cute name, cute in a very grandmotherly wayy. But I think Beatrice is prissy and stuffy and not very attractive.
Also, in the course of work, I used to have to call a place in Beatrice, Nebraska. They were quick to tell me the name of their town is pronounced Bee-AT-riss, heavy emphasis on the second syllable. Which sounds even worse than Beatrice.
