It was all very bewildering. The Summers had not seen Clea Delaney in a very long time, enough for Aaron and Ana to not even remember who she was; Clea was once Erik's colleague before they moved to London, and while he had seen them once or twice, they had lost contact over the past couple of years. It was therefore a massive surprise when she showed up one day at their door, bringing her young son Gerald with her. But it was even more shocking when, within minutes of entering their house, Clea blurted out that Gerald was supposedly Erik's son, and that she'd come to demand his responsibility over him. At the time, Reg was pregnant with their second biological daughter, and was so stunned she could only think to tell the children to go upstairs. After the children were gone, the confrontation escalated; it soon became obvious that Clea was more than a little stressed and barely knew what she was talking about, and yet she was insistent that the child was Erik's. In face of repeated questioning of what she wanted, she blurted that she wanted Erik to acknowledge her and their son, because "Ralph doesn't do me good". It was a very messy sight.
Then, out of nowhere, an indignant voice soared above the hubbub and cut the arguments short. Aaron stepped into the room, visibly seething but with a slow, deliberate gait and his hands clasped behind his back. He pointed out that Clea had Ralph to answer to, whoever he was, and that she had no right to intrude upon their family like that, when there was no way his father could have possibly conceived a child with someone as repulsive and maniacal as her. It was unclear how the blow registered to Clea, but eventually she staggered out, and they never heard of her since. As for Reg and Ana, they agreed with Aaron that it was simply impossible and very unlike Erik for what the woman claimed to be true, and the whole matter was soon remembered only as "that time with the weird lady and the baby".
Several months later, Reg gave birth to another healthy daughter. Sophronia Irene Summers, or Sophie for short, was named after a close friend of Reg and Erik's, who was at the time in hospital with a severe and possibly fatal illness.
