[Opinions] Re: interesting online BA's
in reply to a message by Kinga
Girls:Gradie: It would be fine as a nickname, but I doubt that it is in use as such.
Alesana Nelliel: I don't like it as much as I would if it were a character name.
Fiona Bernadette: Fiona is a tricky name to use, in my opinion. I very much like Bernadette, though.
Israa Mohamed: Israa is interesting.
Violet Minette: I've warmed up to Violet, but I think Minette distracts and dulls.
Antoinette Laura: Bad combination. I am not a fan of either.
Emmaryn: It is very trendy and kre8tiv. In general, I do not like the suffix "-yn."
Edith: Lovely.
Bellemi Rhas: Terrible.
Doreen: Dated, not quite my style, though I suppose it is fine.
Sailer Christabelle: I don't understand the recent interest in using Sailor (or Sailer, Sayler, etc.) as a name. And Christabelle is suffocatingly infantile.
Vallen Blake: I already hate the masculine Blake, and feminine does not improve that rating. Vallen is interesting... but not something I'd support.
Jael: No. Do I even have to elaborate?
Havana Divine: This sounds like the alias of someone working in some form of the adult entertainment industry.
Basil Ray Helen: I like Basil on a boy. Ray is predictable - I feel myself yawning already. Helen is nice, though I prefer Helena, or a different variant.
Crystian Michele: Christian (not the terrible kre8tiv version seen here) is lovely on a boy. Michele is nice when pronounced correctly.
Aarona'Jah Makëida: Must I explain why this should not be used?
MarieLily Lynn: Childish, delicate, noisome.
Emberly Laelia: How awful.
Clancy Ann: I love Ann. Clancy is nice, too, even though I prefer it masculine.
Bellarose Celeste: Oh, please, no. Bellarose? Really? Bellarose is bad enough to eclipse Celeste (which is a name I have long been unable to stand).
Boys:Memphis: I knew a horse by this name. Let's leave it to the pets.
Riam: Interesting... but not something I'd affirm.
Kadence: Cadence would be thought-provoking on a boy. That said, I do not like it.
Chase Maverick Earl: Wasn't there a biographical surfing movie called "Chasing Mavericks" last year? Yes. Chase is a dogs' name, and Maverick need never be used.
Hank Russ: I love Hank as a nickname for Henry. Russ is fine for Russell.
Otto Finn: I like these names separately, but they're dreadful together.
Cyrus Ulysses: Cyrus is nauseating. Ulysses is pleasant.
Legend: Legend? That is going to be a difficult name to operate in the professional world.
Decarlos Donald: Donald is fine. I don't even want to think about Decarlos - it spawns immense frustration in relation to people.
Vivian Krish Hari: I like it!
Jaston Kade: Quintessential trendy, kre8tiv dreck.
Kyson: Another model contemporary, kre8tiv atrocity.
Boston Gordon: I dislike Gordon. And Boston... I want to hate it, but I find it somewhat neat.
Benito: Not my style.
Blaze Thaddeus: I hate both names. Blaze should be reserved for pets, and Thaddeus sounds nightmarishly pretentious.
Brinton Boone: LOST has caused me to be able to tolerate Boone in certain settings. Brinton is frightful, however.
Keldan: What? Keldan?
Deegan: Not my style.
Wyatt Cash Carl: I strongly dislike Wyatt. Cash should never be used. And I have bad associations with Carl that I generally am unable to waver.
Syler Alexzander Haha, Syler! I thought Sylar / Gabriel Gray from Heroes was a fantastic character. Unfortunately, it is not a name that translates well into the real world. I'm not much of a fan of Alexzander.
Toxie Bernard: Bernard is lovely. I doubt that it is any surprise that Toxie brings to mind 'toxic.' What a juvenile first name.
Twins:Zoey Layne Rae and Vera Jayne Mae: I genuinely hate both. Immature, tedious names. Vera is the most doable, though.
Anthony Vincent and Carmela Melanie: Anthony is great. I dislike the rest, though.
