Marcella is a good name. I have a step-cousin named Marcella, who goes by Marcie. It's an old name that doesn't sound too dated, with nickname opportunities, and can be borne by a young girl and a mature woman.

I have a great grandmother named Marcella. To me it is dated, very early 1900's. Its not really my thing. I don't like the male version of Marcel, either.

Marcy would be more to my taste. Marcella just doesn't appeal to me in sound, and it seems to lack something. That being said, I wouldn't mind meeting one- I just wouldn't use it on my own kid.

I like it! It sounds timeless to me (could be matronly or girlish or glamorous).
Would tend to become Marcy or Cella.

I don't especially like it. It feels flowery without having a truly appealing sound from my perspective. But it's nice enough and it combos up very well.
