One of your children hadn’t been feeling well. You couldn’t figure out what was wrong, so you took him/her to the doctor. After a lot of tests it turns out that your child has has a fatal disease. Which of the children? What fatal disease? What happens?
Adeline was a child with a lot of energy, but suddenly she seemed like herself anymore. She was tired, didn't want to run around with her siblings anymore, and even though she wasn't she still managed to get a lot of bruises somehow. Eventually, Theo took her to the doctors office. While there, the doctor told Theo that he had to get Adeline to the ER and that he'd better call Sophia to come, too.
At the ER they found out that Adeline had leukemia. Sophia had lost friends due to cancer, and she was convinced that there was no cure to Adeline's disease. The doctors, and Theo, told her otherwise. Adeline started treatment the next day.
In the middle of all this, Sophia discovered that she and Dakota was going to be parents again. They had been planning on having another child, but now, with everything going on, Sophia couldn't get happy about the pregnancy.
Adeline's disease got worse, until it finally started to get better. At that time, Sophia was six months pregnant with a little baby girl. Adeline finally came home, and just a week later Sophia gave birth to Olivia. All siblings adore her, but especially Adeline who finally have a baby sister.
Adeline still has to take pills every day for another year or so, but everyone are now convinced that she will make it.
