Help[Opinions] Arlia
I came across a BA for a girl named Arlia this morning and I really like it. What do you think of Arlia as opposed to Aaliyah? I think I just find it simpler.

It looks like a Western European name. Which is probably appropriate. That Aa- at the beginning of Aaliyah brings me up short every time - looks as if the parents were trying too hard.
Can't say I like it, though. The closest I've ever come to Arlia is a school friend who decided to become Arline to set herself apart from a cousin who was also named Alice, both of them after the same grandma. I think she's gone back to Alice in adult life!

I didn't even make the connection between Arlia and Aaliyah. I really dislike it as some substitute for Aaliyah.
By itself it looks a little like Arlequin and Aria combines. Can't say I like it; it somehow feels like it's missing something... It's not bad either though.

I don't know if it's connected to Aaliyah but in my accent (Aussie) it sounds exactly the same so that was my guess =P
