I don't care for it. I'm not a fan of surname-y first names or occupation names (like Sawyer, Carter, Mason, etc.) I like a lot of those shorter Th- girls names, like Thea, Theda, Thyra, Thora, etc. But Thayer doesn't come across as being feminine or appealing to me at all.
