A second daughter means an equal amount of boys and girls for the Watson family, and Jamie and Louise couldn't be happier. Mattie's birth wasn't the easiest of sorts, and after a 17hour labour and attempted forceps delivery it was discovered that poor little Mattie had got the cord wrapped around pretty much her entire body and was getting very distressed, thus they whisked Lou off into theatre for a scary emergency C-section. Luckily the team was brilliant and Matilda came into the world screaming and healthy, Louise and Jamie knew that every second counted in the delivery of their fourth baby and they are grateful for the positive outcome - this explains their chosen middle name - Hope. As for Matilda's first name, both Mum and Dad felt as though Brooke and Quinn were quite similar and so wanted something to compliment big brother Jeremy's name. Surprisingly it was Jem himself who came up with Matilda after watching the famous film of the same name, both Lou and Jamie loved it and Mattie had her first name before the traumatic birth.
Because of how she was born Mattie spent 4 days in SCBU, but this time allowed Jamie and Brooke to work on Brooke's bedroom which would be shared with the new arrival after the first few months.
