A thousand times yes! I love the way the Scots do that. Feminized names makes me smile anyway, but the Scottish versions are so darling and awkward. From your list I'm especially loving: Malcolmina, Hughina, Thomasina, Gilbertina and Ina.I would add: Robertina, Adamina, Douglasina, Jacobina, Angusina, and Lachlanina. I have either met people with these names or seen them in baby name books under the "Scottish" heading.

LOL, I think Donaldina is one of THE goofiest names ever! Thomasina is quirky cool. Ditto with Josephina and Jamesina. I do think many m > f names just don't work for some reason. Maybe they sound too harsh or too unwieldy to my ear. I do adore Davina and would use that in a heartbeat.

I actually know a Hughina, also an Ina.
Don't know a Donaldina, but have met a few Donaldas. (Don-EL-da.)

The only ones I really like are Thomasina, mostly because of the Tamsin nickname, and Jamesina, especially a Jem or Jemmy. I'd also like to add Davina, because it fits the criteria, I think, and has really been growing on me lately. All three are lovely, if a little too stately for everyday use. But they have fun built in nicknames, so I'd use them I think.
