London is rainy and gray, and the couple has been spending more time than usual in Scotland, which is rainier and grayer. The two decide to give Los Angeles a try for their acting careers, although Sam, who wants to do theatre, would refer New York. They rent a small bungalow in Santa Monica a few months before Jules is born. Movin cross-Atlantic with a toddler, an eight month old, and pregnant was more trouble than it was worth, and once settled in, aren't entirely happy with their choice. But since Sam finds good work while Freya's on her maternity leave, they decide to give it a year before making another move or major life change.
