Though they love all of their sons very much, Sam and Anna both really wanted a daughter, so when Theodore was a toddler, they decided to try again. When their doctor revealed they were about to have a fifth son, Sam and Anna figured that they simply weren’t meant to have any daughters, and thus stopped trying. So, boy oh boy, were they ever surprised three years later when they found out they were having twin girls!

Their son, like his older brothers, has an old-fashioned, “fuddy-duddy”-type first name and the surname of a writer as his middle name. Sam and Anna would like “vintage” nicknames for their daughters’ first names and -- preferably -- the surnames of female writers for their middle names.

Gilbert and Penny -- with a little help from recent medical advances -- are expecting their fourth (and “definitely final”) child! They’d like their son to have one Christmas-themed name and one spring-themed name, as he is due in the spring.

Dom and Olivia were definitely not expecting to be expecting so soon after Denny was born, but barely a month after Denny’s first birthday, Dom and Olivia welcomed their third daughter. She has an unusual flower name that shortens into a “cute” nickname and a “filler” middle name.

Now, four years later, Dom and Olivia are expecting another son. They’d like his first name to be an unusual saint’s name that can be shortened into a “cute” nickname and for his middle name to be a “filler.”

After adopting Emileigh and Courage, Claire and Edie were content for a while simply dealing with the adventures of raising three young children all of whom were very close in age. Something started to feel like it was missing, though, and soon Claire and Edie were expecting another child through IVF (Claire’s carrying, this time). Like with Morgan, they’ve decided not to find out the sex of the baby, and would like ONE unisex combo that can “work” for a boy or a girl.

About 6 months into the pregnancy, Claire and Edie were contacted by Emileigh and Courage’s former social worker, wondering if they’d be willing to foster a young boy who had trouble with male authority figures. They talked about it amongst themselves and with their children, and decided that they’d take him in and see how things go. Their foster son’s first and middle names are from the US Top 100 in 2012. His surname is French.
