[Opinions] Kenneth
A friend of a friend is contemplating this for her son, after his grandfather. Is it too dated, or too Barbie and Ken (do they even make Kens any more)? WDYT?

To me, its dated. I don't know why I get an 80's date when the only person I know was an ex-uncle that was born in the 60's. Whatever, thats the vibe I get, sensical or not.
It's very fawn cardigan! And after a few pints it might be confusable with Gwyneth ... Ken, in spite of Mr Horne and Beyond Our Ken, is fine, not unlike Ben. There are a couple of instances here in South Africa of Kendrew, which I take it is the obvious merger. I prefer it to both Kenneth and Andrew - seems tougher somehow - but I wouldn't use it without sound family reasons.
A long-ago Brit friend named one of his sons Kendal, or maybe Kendall. Which I quite liked; but it seems to have gone to the girls in the USA.

It's dated, but I love it anyway. I think it's so handsome.
I think they do still make Ken dolls, but not sure. As a girl I didn't care about Ken much and Valerie is the same way. Ken's just kind of a very large accessory for Barbie. lol
Anyway, Kenneth is all right. I don't care for the th ending but it is a nice, strong, reliable name, and Kenny is a pleasant nickname for a young man.

I'm also considering this, but as a mn. In our case it would also be after a grandfather. I definitely think it's better as a mn, but Kenny as a nickname would be quite cute.
It's dated, but I like it, and I like the nickname Ken. I don't think the Ken doll association should kill this name. I approve of its use.
I dont like Kenneth at all but I like almost any variant of it.
Kendon
Kendal
Kennedy
Kenya
Kendrick
Kenna
Kenyon
Kensey
I think that if they were firm on using Kenneth and not a variant then use it in the mn spot

Dated, yes, but still usable I think. I'm in a world of three sons, so I'm not much up on Barbie stuff. Not sure that's still a thing. I don't love the name, so I'd use it in the middle name spot to honour.
