What does everyone think of Zena? I recently developed a fawning fascination with zippy turn-of-the-century names, and Zena is my newest love. Is it too closely associated with the warrior princess? What do you think of the following combinations?Zena Beryl

As I looked through your list, I found that Zena seems to have a special magic for rounding out the rough edges that I perceive in certain names. Most of these edges are the result of what I hear as harsh consonant sounds. Some combos that work this way for me are:Zena Blythe
Zena Clementine
Zena Corinne
Zena Florence
Zena Gloria
Zena Gwendolen
Zena Harriet
Zena Mabel - Again the charming effect of softening and beautifying each name. This may well be my new Mabel combo!
Zena Magdalen
Zena MillicentI also like how the boldness and interest of Zena can stand up to, and balance out, what could otherwise be over-the-top frilliness in a middle name.
Others that caught my eye:Zena Blanche - I want to like Blanch. I really do. It has a charming spunk, but I just cant separate the sound from the cooking term
Zena Caroline - I find this combo to have a lovely melodic quality. Like a lilting voice. I much prefer it to Zena Charlotte
Zena Hazel - As much as I enjoy these apart, together there is just too much "Z"
Zena Marjorie - I prefer this spelling
Zena Margot - Feels off balance, somehow incomplete
Zena Marianne (my favorite) - What do you love about this combo? I lean toward the less common Zena Marion
Zena Rosalind - I enjoy how this combo echos the "Z" sound without the visual repetition of the letter
