I hate it but that's because of a very bad personal association. I knew a horribly mean bitchy Laura in middle school. Even thinking of her now makes me want to punch her horrible bitchy face. When I was in 7th grade, we moved and I went to a different school, so I didn't see her again for a long time. When I did, it was seven years later and both she and I were 19 and it was in a bar, she had the effing nerve to insult me to someone else that night, which I overheard, and I then went and bought a beer and poured the entire thing over her head. So you see it's a very bad association LOL.
Yes, it's dated. Up until about 1990, I would have said that it's not dated and will never be dated, since it had maintained basically the same level of popularity for 110 years. But if you look at its statistics, you can see that it started dropping around 1990 and has been dropping ever since and this accelerated around 2000. It's gone down the "dated" road, no doubt.
