Swedish photographer Bingo Rimér (he mostly photographs pin-ups) and his girlfriend Katrin Zytomierska (blogger, columnist, TV host, bussinesswoman) welcome their second son, RAMBO.

I think the sister should have been Bambi.

His kids names don't sound cool or unique, which I am sure is what he was going for (although I have no idea who he is). Instead they sound like cartoon characters.

Doesn't Sweden have naming laws? I am surprised that Ringo and Rambo would pass muster.
Nova is pretty, it's not my style but it's pretty and doesn't fit with the awfulness of her brothers names.

Well, we do have naming laws, but they are VERY liberal. You wouldn't be allwed to use "names" such as Gud (God), Bajs (Poop), Coca Cola or 007, but many REALLY weird names have passed the test: Tennis, Vilse (lost, as in lost in a forest), Mango, Loranga (Swedish orange soda), Mygg (mosquito), Prinsessa (princess), Chocolate, Caramelle, Lucifer, Tequila, Snö (snow), Regnbåge (rainbow), etc.

How is Loranga okay but Coca Cola is not? How do they decide which sodas make good names and which ones don't? This is one of the faults I see with naming laws. Sometimes they just seem so arbitrary. Do they have a set of rules or is it just a panel of old white men sitting around judging and denying names?

I have no idea. I find it strange, too. Fanta is apparently OK because it is a real name in some African culture, but Loranga is a soda, nothing more. OK, there is a popular book series for children in which a character is called Loranga, but I can't see how that changes anything. The naming laws are not always logical...

I only like Nova, but then there could be something in the dna of the family, since the dad is Bingo.

Rambo is terrible! Absolutely ridiculous. Maybe he can shorten it to Bo or something when he's older. Ringo's almost equally as bad, in my opinion. Nova's not too awful, though.
But honestly, I'm most horrified at the name Bingo! According to Wikipedia, his birth name is Bjorn... please tell me Bingo is some sort of nickname for Bjorn? Cause otherwise all I hear is the song B-I-N-G-O!

No, I'm sad to tell you that Bingo is NOT a nn for Björn. A person called Björn would probably be called Björne or Nalle.
("Nalle" is an old "protection word" for bear - like when they say he-who-must-not-be-mentioned-by-name instead of Voldemort - but nowadays it's also what we call a teddy bear.)

I've never heard of normal people having "protection words" for names. That's really fascinating!

I don't think many people nowadays know that "Nalle" used to be a protection word, it's more of a children's word for bear, like French children calling their teddy bears nono although the French word for bear is ours.
I would guess Bingo was chosen because it can mean "just right!" or "exactly!" The song about Bingo the dog isn't sung here as far as I know, although I think there are Swedish equivalents.
