Michael handsdown. It's certainly overpopular, but I love the sound. It's one of those names that has stuck around, because it is a good name, sturdy and masculine, but not so much that it's overpowering.

I like Elliott alright. It's not a bad name and it's a nice enough classic, but it just feels a bit limp. I prefer names with harder sounds to them.

Love, love, love Michael! But Elliott is good, too. :)

Elliott isn't overused yet. It is more popular than it was in the past, and could continue rising, but I think it's a good name. It sounds very friendly and boy-next-door to me. I also like this spelling best.

Michael, while a solid classic, is overused to the point that it's boring now. No one blinks an eye at a Michael.

Michael. I don't enjoy surnames used as fns unless there are sound family reasons.

I've never been a fan of Elliott for some reason. Also, if I had to choose it for whatever reason, I like the spelling Eliot better, because it reminds me of T.S. Eliot.

Elliot, because I hate Michael. Not sure why I hate Michael so much. I think it's because it's been so popular that I can't help thinking it's been vastly overrated. And I'm sick of hearing it. So Elliot.

I love it, but prefer the Elliot spelling. It's less boring than Michael, and well…it's just a better name. ;-)

Definitely Michael, it's a strong classic. I've known one Elliott and one Eliot and didn't like either.

Michael's a good strong classic and I like it, but I flat out love Elliot. I dislike that second T at the end though, so I say Elliot (or even Eliot) > Michael > Elliott.

I don't really have a favorite, but Michael seems dated, but not that common anymore, at least where I am. Elliot would blend in with all of the Ella/ Emma/ Emilys out there right now. It depends on what you're going for.

I would choose Elliot because it is less common than Michael. Michael is nice but it seems like there are just SO many Michaels/Mikes around. Elliot is a nice name too and is still familiar to people, but not too overused.
