[Opinions] Re: French names.

I love French male names and Rémy is one of my favorites. Though I must say that the pronunciation given in the database frustrates me to no end. It says the É is pronounced like -ay which it is not. Rémy is not pronounced like Ray-mee and Étienne is not pronounced like ay-tyen. Anyway, Étienne is another favorite of mine.
I'm not sure what you are looking for, names that are used in France or names that are obviously French?
You could take a look at the most popular names in France: http://www.behindthename.com/top/ for some inspiration.
Here's my short list of favorite French names (male):
Isidore St.Pierre (fn, mn)
Étienne
Rémy
Guillaume
Guy
Loïc
Noé
Thibault
Amaury
François
Jules
Noël
* Ellen * Astrid * Eira * August * Isidore * Emmanuel *
but she wants to be sure 'cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
