Help[Opinions] Osric and Thea
What do you think of the two following names?
Osric - I visited Gloucester Cathedral today which was founded by Prince Osric of Mercia. It got me thinking that I like Osric, it's similar to Oswald and Oscar, both of which I like and has a sound that I think would probably work well in modern day. Any thoughts?
Secondly the name Thea has really been growing in me lately. I can't find a full name I like for it though (any suggestions?) So what do you think of the name Thea as a name on it's own.

I think Osric is nifty and usable. Possible that it'd be taken to be a mashup of Oscar or Osborn + -ric, but I don't think I'd care really.
Thea is pretty on paper, but I don't really like it in real life. It's kind of breathy for my taste. Unless you're prn it TAY-a - then it's ok, nms.

Osric is SO MAGNIFICENT! Ugh!
I've been thinking about Thea a lot lately, and I decidedly love it! It's perfectly viable as a standalone name.

Osric isn't really my taste.
I love Thea. It's simple, clean, feminine. I don't think it needs a longer name- it's complete as-is.

Osric is cool, reminds me of Adric which I like a lot. I'm a sucker for a good 'O' name. Anyway, Osric is cool cause it sounds classic and modern at the same time to me. Like the name of a rock star or an artist or someone. I like it!
Thea is very nice. I think it's pretty, simple, very feminine and dainty but with a strong undercurrent. It's a possible nn for one of my favorite girl names: Theodosia, so I do have a bias for it lol I love the 'Theo' names though, for both girls and guys. It doesn't have to be short for anything if you want though, it stands on its own just fine. Spell it Theia and it feels a bit more full. Some other possibilities might be names that start or end with 'the' sounds like Themis, Theodora, Theophania, Theophila, Therasia, Theresa, Tabitha, Orinthia, Agathe, Calanthe, etc

Osric is nerdy and cool at the same time! I think it could definitely work.

Osric is great. I like it. The "oz" at the beginning is always fun, but the "k" sound on the end lends strength and keeps is more usable than Oswald and Oswin (more's the pity). It's a gutsy name, but not as unusable as we might think.
Thea is lovely on it's own. It's light and airy, coy yet serious at the same time. it has a very come-hither quality to it that I like. But if you are looking for more formal names, how about:
Theodora / Dorothea / Dorothy
Althea
Theodosia
Cynthia
Theophila ("thee-AH-fil-uh")
Xanthe
Anthea
ETA: Amalthea ("ah-mahl-THEE-uh") -- she would have the choice of Thea or Molly as a nn. :0)
