I never want to hear another British person sneer at the US for having presidents called Jimmy and Bill.

Hey Rox, d'you know where this thing about UK people sneering at the presidents' names comes from? I think this came up on the board before once, and all the Brits were baffled by it and had never heard of it happening. It makes no sense, given that we had a prime minister called Tony, and others known as Jim and Ted.

as I recall...It has come up right here on BTN. It was quite a while ago, but I do distinctly remember that the subject came up and some British poster acted all shocked and outraged that a president would be referred to regularly by the media as Bill.
