[Opinions] Skylynn
I recently heard this name for the first time, and instantly fell in love with it. It's gentle and pretty and rare, and she could go by Sky or Lynn as a nn, both of which I like! So, what do you think of Skylynn? I'd love to know!

Sorry, but I don't like it at all. Way too trendy and too much "y". Skye is so much prettier.

I like the sound alright, but I don't like all the y's and n's. Skylin would be better, I think. Skylinn even. Skylinne? Nah, looks too much like "skyline". Anyway, I like the sound of Sky + lynn, but I really don't like the spelling. I don't like "lynn" in general (I always want to change it to lin or lyn). But in this case, Skylyn also looks weird because of the y's. I think Skylin is probably the best option.

Ok, somebody else likes it, I haven't gone insane! Thanks for your help, lovely :) I was feeling the same about the 'y's...Skylin is cool! xx

There are too many y's in it for me. I think that Sky(e) or Skyla would be better alternatives.

Why would anyone want to go by either the over-ambitious Sky or the flat and dated Lynn? It is actually worse than Skylar, which has an interesting origin though the spelling tries to conceal it. Skylynn might work for a character in an animated cartoon, but really not in real life.

I don't like it. There is something about the -lynn ending that is just so overdone. Its like people are adding -lynn or -lyn to everything nowadays. To top it off, I don't even like Lynn on its own. I don't mind Skye, though I would never use it personally. I also like Skyla. Skyler is a boys name and has always been to me (comes from Schuyler).

Skye is nice, and Lynn is nice, but Skylynn looks like it's pronounced skill-lin, and resembles just another trendy name with lynn tagged on the end. It's not distinctive, you know? It's not ugly at all, it's rather pretty - but it doesn't have any sparkle for me that Skye itself doesn't have more of. I could endorse Skye Lynn as a double name or hyphenated name.

To be honest, I don't really like it and it's definitely not my style...if I could be said to have a style of names! I think Lynn is very pretty as a middle name, but I can not fall in love with Sky or any version of it...it sort of sounds like a hippie name, IMO:)
I think I would maybe stick with something you like and have liked for a long time, just so that later on you don't maybe regret giving into pregnancy hormones:) lol

That's probably a good idea lol :) xx

I dint like it. I love Skye though, that's what I named my daughter.

I think Skye is a beautiful name :) What I've really been looking for is Skye, but with something on the end. I dislike Skyler / Skylar, and Skyla is ok I guess, but this name seems special to me.My daughter's name is Frances Violet, so, as you can tell, Skylynn really isn't my style...DON'T JUDGE ME GUYS I'M SO CONFUSED!!!!

Hm, I'm trying to think of something good to put on the end of Sky/Skye.
Skya, Skyah
Skylee, Skylie, Skyli, Skyley
Skyleah
Skyann, Skyanne
Skyanna, Skyana
Skyella
Skyleen?
uh... Skyrim (jk!!)
I've been staring at the word "Sky" so they all look weird to me now!

Not really my type of name. The nicknames are good, but the spelling trips me up a lot. Why not Skylin? Or Sky-Lynn? Skylynn sort of trips me up, and it almost looks like Skinning (Skynyng/Skyning, rather) to me. |D; I'm also not too fond of trendier names, and even though it isn't a common one out there, it defiantly has the sound aspects of really popular ones. That said, if you really like this name go for it - though I'd wait on the name for awhile and see how it also feels down the line, too.

Thanks for being helpful! :) I'm actually thinking of using it as a middle name rather than a first name, so it's not such a big deal. It's not actually my usual type of name, either. I hate trendy names, so why I like this name is a bit of a puzzle to me!

It's not awful by any means, but while it may not be on the official popularity charts, it is not at all fresh or surprising. It fits right in with Ashlyn, Kaelyn, Jaylyn, and Gracelyn.

It's funny, because I hate all those name, but adore Skylynn. I just think it's beautiful :)

I have always had a soft spot for the name Sky for a girl. I just like the vibe I get from it. Skylynn on the other hand is a trendy blending of names that will not age well at all imo. I really don't get the appeal, sorry.

I thought you didn't like made-up names?

When did I say that? This isn't the Jayden thing again, is it...?I don't usually like made-up names, no, but there are a few exceptions, Skylynn being one of them :)

Yes, I went by the Jayden post. You said, "I love beautiful classic names, and made-up names like Jayden are the absolute bane of my life", so I assumed a name like Skylynn wouldn't be your taste.Well, I'll give you my opinion: It's fluffy and without substance. It's too cutesy, and it won't age well. Sky or Skylar would be much better.

I have a strong dislike for the name Skylar, and I would probably end up calling a Skylynn 'Sky' as a nn anyway. I am as surprised as everyone else that I like the name Skylynn- remember, I only just discovered it...I'll probably be over it in about a week lol.
