[Opinions] Kaia
Replies
I have a cousin with this name. it sounds pretty normal for me, but I've heard it all my life. although hers is spelled Chaia but pronounced the same way.
Not happening where I live, because in some local languages it refers to an outdoor lavatory. The word actually means 'house', and the outdoor facility was called 'picanini kaia' or small house.
More generally, it gives off trendi vibes, a kind of spin-off from all the Kate and Caitlyn names and a break from Gaia and Maia.

I love it :) It's very pretty.
I honestly don't have a firm opinion on this, which is kind of odd:) I've read the post several times without answering because I can't decide.
I don't think it's too "weirdly" out there...scores a point for me:)
I don't think it looks made up and like somebody can't spell...scores another point:)
But I am not sure how to pronounce it...Kay-yah, or Kye-uh?
If it's Kay-yah, I like it... I don't particularly care for the prn of Kye-uh though...

Ditto, I'm not sure whether I like it or not. I'm inclined to say I don't like it because the K looks trendy.
Interesting. K sometimes looks trendy to me, but I think Kaia looks old-fashioned. Not "classic" exactly, but definitely far from trendy.
I don't even know how I'd describe it... "naturey", maybe? It's not a nature or hippie name, but I can easily see it on some sort of homesteader living in a sort of wilderness setting, if that makes sense. (It also makes me think of Gaia, but a lot less "goddessy".)

I like it. I only know one IRL, I think she's about 22.
I like this name too, especially since my mn is Kate. DH doesn't like the sound of it at all though. I also wonder how it will age?
I really like Kaia as well. It sounds modern, but has some history.
