[Opinions] Re: Thoughts on "Marita"
in reply to a message by Ash
Oh no you didn't! Martha is a stunning name! It's my little sister's name, and I've always loved it; it's so classy and classic, and feminine. How could you put it in the same category as Gertrude, Larry and Horace?!
I am so confused right now...

I think Martha belongs in that class. I never saw the prettiness in that name, TBH. It sounds so heavy and clunky to me.

Well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but the general opinion is that it's a beautiful name. I think it's got a fullness to it rather than a clunkiness; a richness :).

Okay......it sounds to me like you're saying, in so many words, "You are entitled to your opinion, but you should know it is the incorrect one." Maybe that's not what you mean, but that's what it sounds like. How can you know what the general opinion of Martha is? A committee didn't meet without me and decide that Martha is a beautiful name. Weird.

Omg:) so sorry! Lol. I think I've always read stories about Martha who was an old lady...I have never met any Martha under, like, 75!
Anyways, no offense meant, lol. Just my opinion!

Lol, I was just kidding around, you don't have to be sorry! :) I feel really bad! Naw, I really like you.
I know Martha isn't to everyone's taste, I just didn't think it was in the same category as the other names in that list! It is a bit of an old lady name, but it's actually quite popular on little girls in England, at least where I live. Anyway, I think you're lovely, and you have great taste in names (always wanted to tell you that lol) xx

Ok! Whew, dodged a bullet with that one:)
Thanks!! Now if only my husband would agree with you:)

Lol, my husband isn't really into my names either! But, at the end of the day, who gives birth?
I say we get the naming privileges! :)But seriously, I LOVE your taste in names. What are your kids' names, if you have any, that is? :)

I agree. Martha is old fashioned, but is not clunky like some of the other names she mentioned. I think it's lovely.
