[Facts] Iranian name Ferinaz -- please help!!
I am trying to find any information I can on this name so I can make a name submission for it. I am having one heck of a time finding anything! :( I was able to find a post from an Iranian-born girl in Australia who says it means "joy". Looking at the names on BtN, I was able to find the name Shahnaz, where it says that the element 'naz' means 'pride' in Persian. The closest I have been able to find on the first element, 'feri', is the Turkish name Feriha, which apparently means "merry woman". "Merry" is very close to the "joy" the actual girl named Ferinaz said it means. Could anyone please help me confirm that 'feri' means 'joy' in Persian? Having the Arabic/Persian script for the word to go with it would be extra awesome. Thus the name would mean something like "pride and joy" (of her parents, family, etc, presumably). Thanks in advance! :)

Are you sure this is not the Arabic form of Farsi پریناز Parinaz (Angel+Pride)?

No, Perinaz is not Arabic because the format of Arabic and Persian is the same and there is no letter p in Arabic
