[Opinions] Jorja
What do you think of Jorja? I just saw it and the spelling just makes me so uncomfortable, yuck! Jorja will spend her life correcting the spelling of her name.

It has a kind of Slavic look, spelled like this. But it's still ridiculous. Georgia is just fine. No need to complicate things.

I don't mind it. I'm not really fond of Geo- names so this spelling actually makes for a marginal improvement.

I suppose it has a certain flat logic. You say it as you see it. But, if you have to do that to Georgia, pick another name.

As a Georgia, I think Jorja is a very sorry version of my name. However, it is true that fewer and fewer people know how to spell or pronounce Georgia. I'm old so I have some perspective on this. I now routinely spell my name out. I would say that for at least half the people I encounter it is necessary, whereas in the past, not so much. Also, upon someone seeing Georgia in print, I increasingly am greeted with a puzzled look and a mangled pronunciation. Still, none of this excuses Jorja.

I like it. It's a GP of mine, mostly because I like the way it looks.

I actually kinda know a person who's called this. I thought she was Eastern European and it was pronounced YOR-ya or something like that, before I read that she was American and it's another form of Jorja. I don't care for either Georgia or Jorja, to be honest. I'm neutral.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it.

I agree the spelling looks awful. It's a phonetic spelling, so it looks like the way a child or dyslexic would spell Georgia, not a legit alternative spelling. I don't like it at all.

You know, I prefer this spelling to Georgia. To me, Georgia looks so complicated and bulky, Jorja is much simpler. But that's just me.

That's a good way of putting it. That spelling makes me uncomfortable too.

It's dumbed down and just awful.

I don't care for it. It makes it look like the parents can't spell.

My reaction to Jorja is pretty much the same as yours, YUCK! Georgia is a beautiful name (although I prefer Georgina or Georgiana myself)but this spelling is hideously ugly. And not very intuitive either, it's spelled like a feminine version of Jorge so it should be pronounced HOR-ha but I've only ever heard Georgia for this spelling.

That's how I pronounced it in my head when I first saw it. It looks so awkward!

I actually like it. *runs and hides*Dare I say it may be my favorite spelling... Jorja ...I just like the way it looks. But I know it's a guilty pleasure and I'd never actually opt for that spelling IRL, unless maybe for a middle name

I don't like it... Georgia is much richer and fuller.

I had never heard of this name, so I clicked the link. I was expecting an ethnic name or something like that. I did not expect it to be another spelling of Georgia. I don't like it, or Georgia, actually.
