[Opinions] Kate is expecting twins! What do you think she will name them?
JUST KIDDING...actually, I would like to know your opinion on the name/nickname Pepper. I saw it in the credits for "Boardwalk Empire" last night, and I realized I have heard it here and there over the years. Do you think it's a legit name, or is it too nickname-y? What would you pair it with?I don't know if I like it, so be as honest as you want to be. :) "An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. It reminds me of one of the little girls in Annie, and of one of the grown men in Mamma Mia!. I think it would be incredibly silly as a given name, and not much better as a nickname, though Penelope "Pepper" or Philip "Pepper" could work to some extent.

You're hilariousLOL. As for Pepper, I think it's silly as a name. Laughable and mock-worthy. But as a nickname, no problem-o.

When I hear Pepper, I actually hear Peppa, and it's closer followed by Pig.
Peppa Pig, oink! My niece is crazy about this TV show, and I know a lot of young children are, the franchise is everywhere in England rendering Pepper, unfortunately, unusable.
I say unfortunately because it's actually on my GP list from years and years ago. I think it is extremely nickname-y and I don't think it should be used as a full name, but it's sure cute!

Pepper could = Philippa? And I'd love to see royal twins, preferably named Bubble and Squeak; BS for short.

I hate imagining having to address a grownup as Pepper, unless it were a pseud she gave people who didn't know her well and I didn't know her well. It's a dog name, trivial.Pepper, her sisters Coco and Cricket, and her brothers Flint and Chip. hahaIf I had to pair it with something in a combo, I think it needs Jean. Pepper Jean. Or something totally OTT like Cayenne Pepper.

ok, I'm certifiable because I'm totally loving the sibset of Pepper, Coco, Cricket, Flint and Chip.Let me try to legitimize them.Penelope "Pepper"
Christina "Cricket"
Constance "Coco"
Franklin "Flint"
Charles "Chip"Beautiful.

Like Nathan Lane's character on Modern Family? I sure hope it's a nn. That's the only way I'd use it.

I don't like it. It's a food and a spice, not a name. It would be okay for a pet.

I actually really like this name. I can see it as a stand-alone, or as a nickname for Penelope if you should so wish, but I like it best as a full, legit name.Pepper Eolande

The only knowledge I have of the name Pepper is Pepper Potts from Iron Man. If I'm correct, in her case it's a nickname for Virginia.I kinda like Pepper, but only in a nicknamey way.

Itchy and Scratchyeta: actually Itchy Charles Arthur Poopyface and Scratchy Philip Quentin Fim-tim-bin-lim Olé Biscuitbarrel
Pepper: well, there's Pippa and Piper, so why not, they could be triplets. The 'hot' jokes would get annoying really fast though. Especially if she really wasn't.

I actually like it, but wouldn't use it. Not strong enough for me. It is very nicknamey. I always think of Pepper Potts on Iron Man. LOL

Okay. I know I've said something like this several times. But. I was so thinking of making a post and jokingly heading it with something about Kate and the royal baby. The only reason I didn't was that I couldn't really think of anything I wanted to post about. It just shows our Karmas are one.I think Pepper is ridiculous as the name of a person. Talk about dog names, as we were just were. It is such a dog name.

A good dog name, but silly on a person. It just sounds dumb.

LololoI like Pepper. It has a fifties rebel-housewife kinda feel to it. In one of my midcentury homemaker mags, there's a contributor called Sally Pepper Lastname-I-Can't-Recall. There's also a Jinx! It also runs along the lines of a rich heiress nickname, what Hyacinth Bucket would approvingly call "very public school", like Sunny or Kiki or Harryo.Ohh it could be a fun nn for Penelope! But if I was to just use Pepper, I'd pair it with something more classic I think:Pepper Charlotte
Pepper Olivia
Pepper Frances
Pepper Cecily
Pepper Lucille
Pepper Moira
Pepper Meredith
Pepper Amy
Pepper Sarah
Pepper Louisa
Pepper Eliza

I do not like pepper as someone's name. Not too fond of food-related names. Olive included. A bit sillyI would pair it with saltPepper and salt (:

Twins would deplete their name pool! The royal baby is boring and you're boring if you care!
Pepper is kind of neat. I might put it on my list of names to use for sims. I wouldn't use it in real life, but I'd probably have a "ha, neat" reaction if I met one.Female, right? It's a word so I can see it for either.
