I think it has a pretty sound, but I can't help but linking it to the word Romani and for that reason I wouldn't consider if for myself.

I think it's one of the ugliest names out there. I don't like any name starting with Ro, except names like Rosemary or Rosalia.

It's not uncommon here and I've met a couple Rominas. Not a bad name, but also not something I'd ever use (feel the same about Roman, Ramona, etc.).

I don't like it. It sounds like a birth control pill brand to me.

I like it a lot. Close friends of my Dad have a daughter named Romina, who I grew up with so it doesn't seem too unusual to me although I have never met another. I couldn't use it because I'm still in regular contact with her and it would seem weird so I've never given the name a huge amount of thought. My Romina's siblings are Gloria, Renee, Jessica and Lucas if you're interested :)

Oh, I like it. At least, much more than Romana. It's spirited and posh, but open. Like the kind of person who owns a polo pony named Brian.Except I'd be worried that it would get mushed into "Romna", rather than the much prettier "ro-MEE-na"....although Romna is still kinda cool, in a Ferengi sort of way.

Oh wow, that's...really pretty. I'm kind of ashamed that I haven't heard of this name sooner, just because it seems exactly like the kind of name I'd run across and hold onto. Very beautiful indeed, and I just adore the nn's Minnie and Mina, and Romy isn't so bad either.

Agreed. How has this not been on my radar?I have been looking for a full name for Min for ages!
aw... just asked DH about it and he goes "uh, we're not from Rome. And it sounds like someone's imaginary friend."I full disagree with him, but I think that counts as a shoot down. ;(

I know, it's crazy.... I don't know how I've never heard of it before!? I'm always on the lookout for longer forms of Romy but have never liked Ramona because I dislike the Mona sound. So not the case with Mina :)Glad I'm not the only ones who's been in the dark, lol. It literally just popped into my head and I'm having such an "ah HA!" moment. I thought for sure I was just slow to the chase
