[Opinions] Rufus and Theodora
These names are resonating heavily for me. I love and would use them both. I know Theodora is almost a universal favorite here, so I know that will be admired. Rufus is only mildly loved, I think, but with me it's more than mild. He's a lovely emerald green (odd, since the name means red) with a dash of fox orange -- like the winning combo of Romilly Fern below.
If your partner seriously loved Rufus, would you use it?

Rufus is sienna to me though individually R is reddish-pink, u is yellow-orange, f is yellow-green, and s is right in the middle orange. Maybe it's sienna because maybe if you mixed all those colors together it would be a color close to a sienna brown. Which is weird because usually to me a name will be whichever color the first letter is.
I like Rufus but I don't love it enough to use it largely because I don't like any of the nn's. If you and your partner love Rufus then I think you guys should use it.
I love Theodora even if it isn't one of my top names and if my husband super loved Theodora I would use it. Theo is a great nn and Dorie and Dora are fairly cute too.
Romilly Fern is a cute combo, Milly and Romy are cute nn's.

I like Rufus okay, so yes, I would consider using it. It's dashing with Theodora.
I know a Rufus - a nice man who gives a good impression of his name, if you see what I mean.
I don't think DH would ever seriously love Rufus - for one thing, he's a redhead - but I'd be willing to consider it.

Rufus is a dogs name that on a human, just sounds silly. I get that it may have been solely human one time but all I can think of is a dog. That or an older male. Sorry but if my boyfriend or husband wanted to use it even to honor, I wouldnt. I would use their other names. I wouldn't want to look like an ass, having people think I'm calling for a dog lol! Not anything horrible about that. Rufus just screams dog to me
Theodora is pretty but nothing I'd use. Nothing against it though!

I love Theodora! I love most names with the THEO or THEA beginning. I'm a big fan of Greek names in general. Rufus is okay. I think it's growing on me since I just learned that it is an ancient Roman name for someone who had Red hair. I might use it as a middle name, but not a first.
Oh how I love Rufus. I would use Rufus for a child in a heartbeat. It's DH who doesn't like it, and anybody I mention it to says dog name, but I don't see it that way. I would gladly call a son Rufus. It seems to be creeping into the London BAs more and more too.
I like Theodora, but i'm in the camp that prefers the simplicity of Thea and would use Thea rather than Theodora. It is very popular here (on BtN) though.

If my partner seriously loved Rufus, I'd pinch myself to see if I was dreaming, because I also love Rufus.
