[Opinions] Suggest some odd nicknames for Rebecca?
Rebecca is a name that is really growing on me, though I'm not overly keen on Becky as a nickname. Reba is cute, and my favoured nn for it so far, but it's not giving me that excited "love it" feeling.
Please comment on some of the more outlandish ideas I've come up with for it:
Red
Rex (via "Becks - Bex")
Bucky (the same way that Buffy is from Beth)
...and please suggest your own ridiculous Rebecca ideas! I'm just playing right now, so it's ok to get silly :)

As a Rebecca it'll be fun to get creative with my name. Here goes! I can't wait to read the other posts and see what they come up with. Some of these are going to be obvious stretches.
Bittie (by friends)
Betty (by people who misheard "Becki," but why not?)
Ruby (I quite like this one)
Ebba or Eb (my great-grandma went by Eb)
Bea (BEE-ah)
Beth
Cara
Robbie / Rob
Rue
Rune
Runa
Rua
Rea (ray-ah)
Rae / Ray
Some iffy ones (imo)...
Recca (Too similar to wrecker, esp. in England)
Rebby / Rebbie
Rebba
Berry
Becker (You know, like trendy Harper and Hunter? What, it's too much like Pecker? Oh, fine)
Red is always cute for someone with red hair, if not a bit overused. I don't like Rex or Bucky-- mainly because they were names used for older men in my family. Reba makes me think of all things stereotypical country southern. Thanks, Reba McEntire.
I'll add more if I think of any.

(I'm going to write down the obvious ones too just to get them out of my system)
Becca
Becky
Beck
Bec
Reb
Reba
Rebec
Recky
Reccy
Rexie
Rexy
Berry
Reby
Cebby
Cubby
Rucky
Ricky
Recca
Ree
Baca
Rica
Reca
Wrecky
Reckon
Acceber is Rebecca backwards, so...
Accy
Accie
Ackie
Acky
Eber
Ebbie
Ebby
Berry
Ber
Ceber
Cebbe
Cubby
Ceby
Ace
Acey
Accio
Okay I'm done. There might be some usable things in there among the randomness.

What about Beck? I think it sounds cool and refreshing.
Beck is very hip. Thanks!
How 'bout Rebbie or Rebel?
OH YES that is good
Thank you!
Thank you!
I knew a Rebecca who went by"Ree-Bee", although I'm not actually sure how she spelled it. Reebie, Rebe, Rebie, who knows. Anyway, as far as sound goes I LOVE that!
I was going to suggest
Bex
Bexie
Bexty
Bexly
Bexa
Bexo
so those could also work on the Rex theme
Rexie
Rexty
Rexly
Rexa
Rexo
Or the Br together?
Brex
Brexie
Brexty
Brexly
Brexa
Brexo
Red is fine, but since it's a "real" nickname, it doesn't seem out there enough for me.
Bucky is great!
Brucky or Brucks or Brux could work too.
And a few more
Recca
Rucca
Reebeck
Reeb
Reebs
How's that for silly?

omg I love Reebie, Reebs and Recca. Also Reebeck made me think of Reebok - there's a wacky one! YEAH.
Great list, thank you so much!

I have always liked Becca.
Anyway.
Red is ok, but would make more sense if the child had red hair or something. I would never related it to Rebecca.
Rex is a masculine name to me, so I find it hard to picture it as a nickname for a girl. It is also a stretch, and you would be explaining Rex, Bex all the time. It would be easier to say you call her Rex because she was born with small arms or liked to roar.
On that note though, I do like Bex a lot. I think Becks is believable and Bex is fairly obvious as well.
Others might be Reb, Rek, BB (my mother is Rebecca and goes by BB sometimes). . . Sorry I can't think of more.
