[Opinions] Núria
I just came across this today when playing with the name generator and instantly loved it. I just realized it may be because it reminds me of the character Nuri from The Dark Eye games, Chains of Satinav and Memoria (based on Das Schwarze Auge, a German pnp rpg). The character is meh but I loved the games and apparently grew to love the names!
What do you all think of it?
My PNL = http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/37275
Top: Henry & Eloise (main) / Percival & Ember (GP) / James & Gwendolyn (top25)
Bottom: Athos & Jacoba (main) / Dinadan & Melpomene (GP) / Corvo & Deva (top25)

DH has a cousin named Nuria. I like it; I think it's lovely. :)
I feel like I have heard this name before, but cannot remember where, though I am sure I saw it without the accent - as Nuria.
I like it.
Simple. Easy to say, easy to pronounce and lilting on the tongue. Its got a solid base to it without giving off a certain masculinity. It has little frill, but is feminine enough to be lovely. I would use it.
I would point out though, that it does not seem standard or traditional (which you may like) ... so I would categorize it with legit, but not recognizably so, names like:
Seren, Amzi, Desta, Bayar, Emer, Olin, etc...

Nuria reminds me of urea - it's that ur followed quickly with the -ia sound, even though I think Nuria's said 'noo-re-ah'. I'm also kinda biased... -ria is probably my least favourite of the -ia name endings, it just sounds medical to me.
Maybe if I came across it in the wild I'd like it more!
Nuri is pretty, but in a kind of scrappy, stoic, bitchy way. I think it looks pretty, and would fit well in a fantasy or game setting, but I just get a negative impression of the kind of character/person that would have the name well in advance of actually seeing it in use... if that makes sense...

I love it! My Spanish friend (we met as pen pals in college) is actually named Núria, and she's so nice that the name just makes me think of her.
It's a nice name even without that association. I have no idea what it means, but I'm definitely looking it up now.
