[Opinions] How would you pronounce "Blaise"
I really like the name Blaise ("BLEZ"), butI'm worried people wouldn't pronounce it right at first sight. How would you pronounce it without looking up the right pronunciation first?I AM IRON MAN

I'd say Blaze, which is how I thought it was pronounced. Although since it's French, it's unlikely it would come out right when I say it anyway.

Like Blase, long A, S sound at the end.

BLAY-sz
It's not incredibly appealing that way, but I dislike BLEZ as well.

It's BLAYZ to me, no different than "blaze." I'm in Texas. When I lived in New York, I was near a St. Blaise church. They said BLAYZ, too. BLEZ would be difficult to enforce if you're not in a French-speaking area.

Blaze.

It is pronounced the same as "blaze". The "blez" pronunciation is French and a non-French speaker would sound quite obvious pronouncing it that way. Wouldn't be wrong, just hilarious.
Blaise is at the top of our boy's list.

I live in the US and don't think anyone would pronounce it BLEZ either. It's BLAYZ, like Blaze. BLEZ would probably only work in French-speaking areas.

Blaise is fairly common here. Not one person would pronounce it blez. It's always Blaze here.
