[Opinions] Re: Cadence?
in reply to a message by Anne
I think it's a nice fresh-sounding word name with a lovely gentle meaning and sound. It lacks the theatricality of other new or revived word name usages, miraculously - that adds to its appeal. It isn't my style; it dovetails too, too well with the ultra-popular "aiden" sound in names. That gives me an impression of superficiality. I don't think I'd react that way on meeting a bearer of the name in 10-20 years though. I think it's very nice and decent, in fact the most pleasant of all the "aiden" sound names barring Aidan itself.
I absolutely do NOT like it spelled with a K. A word name in particular, should be rigidly spelled like in the dictionary, and gives me an impression of cringe-worthy childishness if it isn't.
And I don't like it on a boy at all. On a masculine person it would tend to suggest driving, bellicose percussion, rather than music.
