[Opinions] Christiana
I'm not the biggest fan of "Chris" names, especially on girls, but, Christiana I'm currently loving.
What are impressions of this name? And wdyt about "Cissy" (Kissy) as an occasional nn? I'm trying to avoid Chris/Chrissy/Christy.

I stepsister's name is Christiana, and for most of her life she hated her name. She goes by Christi, though you said you wanted to avoid "Chris" nicknames; however, I think Cissy sounds like something a small child would say when trying to pronounce Christi.
I hate almost all Chris-names except two... Christoph and Christine.
Christiana is pretty for sure, but a little too flowery and frilly for me (like Ameliana and Margolina etc).
However, it's more usable than Christy, Christin, Christian, Christopher, etc... imo.
Cissy is cool, but pronounced sissy. Otherwise I would prefer Kit, Kitty, Rista, Tiana etc. Cree might also be kinda neat, though that is kinda boyish.

Christiana is lovely and has an entirely different feel to it than Christina / Christine. I understand why you'd want to avoid Chris and Chrissy / Chrissie. Cissy doesn't do much for me, however, it is less expected than Chrissy. Due to the different ending of Christiana, you would have other options. WDYT of Tiana, Tia, Ana or Annie? Also, there's always Christa which I adore and have never encountered IRL.
Two of my great-grandmothers (whom I never knew) were named Christiana! So I've always been aware of it and inclined to be fond of it. And they were both known as Chrissy.
I'd never use it - just possibly as a mn perhaps, but not for actual use because I'm not a religious person at all and I don't want to give the impression that I am. No doubt the old grannies were, but that was long ago.

Christiana is okay. It's one of the better Chris- names. I also love Christiane, which is similar, and would use it in the middle if not for a cousin with the name...
Cissy (Kissy) would be adorable as the occasional nickname.

I like Christiana way better than other Christine names, which seem dated to me.
Cissy is a good nickname to stay away from Chris nicknames. However, you will still have friends calling her Chris and she may even decide to use that nickname herself so if you hate it then I would steer clear.

Here in Delaware, Christiana is a place name, after Sweden's Queen Christina. There's a Christiana Mall upstate as well as a Christiana Hospital, among other places. That's probably why it has never seen much use here.
I much prefer Christina, it's much less fluffy and seems more down-to-earth. Don't like Cissy or Kissy at all.
