[Opinions] Harris
I never realised Harris was actually a first name and not only a last name. I think I like it as a first name. It's a bit more sophisticated than Harry (which is a great nickname), but not as trendy as Harrison. What do you think? I think I'd actually consider using it. Love it. Harris is quite handsome and mature sounding for an adult, but can be fun and spunky for a kid :)

I like it......and also prefer it to Harry. I think it sounds quite well with Myrtle.

I prefer Harris to Harrison like you, but to me it doesn't have the classic feel that Harry does, nor all the great namesakes.

I've had Harris, nn Harry on my list before and would definitely consider it for use. I agree that it is more sophisticated than Harry and I'd say the same thing about it and Harrison too. Anyway, I do really like the name and it has a great feel to me.

There is a very funny kids' book by Gary Paulsen called "Harris and Me" wherein the narrator goes to spend the summer with his aunt and uncle and two cousins on a remote farm in Minnesota. Harris is the boy cousin and is full of mischief and mayhem. That said, i don't like the name. It seems stiff and harsh somehow, and also a lot of people pronounce harass the same as Harris.

Yes! I like it too. And I feel exactly the same: way better than Harry and less trendy than Harrison. I might consider using it if I didn't like Morris so much more.

Morris is good too, but I like Harris better. Maybe because of the nickname Harry.

I knew a Harris at university; he had a one-syllable ln that is the name of a colour, and married a Simone. Yes, definitely sophisticated; I'd prefer it if it was also a family ln, but there are many worse names in circulation.Would that be Harris Paul Conrad? Nice combo!

Yes, that would be Harris Paul Conrad. The middle names are very meaningful to us, so we'll keep those.
