I agree that Lyric is lame. I think Lyrid sounds like a type of worm, and also too close to lurid. If it were really a name, or even just a noun instead of an adjective, it would be okay, but as an invention it has too many problems. Maybe Lyrida or Lyrica, if we're inventing names.
