I dislike it ... it sounds gothier than Raven or Ember.
I think it's much less annoying when it's spelled Wynter, because then it looks more like a surname-derived name or something, it's namey and not so evocative of darkness and cold and dormancy and bleak landscapes and that slightly endangered feeling of being driven together in warm places.
Okay, so I hate it a little bit less now that you made me think about it. But it's nms. Still too dark and desperate. I like Summer as a name.
I'd rather call someone Winter than Winnie, I guess because of the word whinny. Winnie isn't awful but it just sounds dorky to me.

Winter "Winnie" is extremely cute!! I love it.

I like it, particularly as a middle name. I'm not as sure about it as a first name. I'm not a huge fan of Winnie. I think Winter pairs best with a feminine, romantic name, like Juliet.

I personally like it but maybe i"'m biased since I was born during the dead of winter. I think winter, summer and autumn work fine as names.

I'm very fond of Winter, in a nostalgic sense, and I think I might be inclined to use it still if I ever found the right combination. I used it in a "book" I wrote when I was twelve or thirteen, the combination being Ariana Winter, which should make me cringe, but really doesn't. I like xPrincess27x's idea of Winter Penelope.

I'm not very fond of Winter, but Winnie as a nickname is adorable! How about these as full names for Winnie?

I actually am really starting to like this name now. I don't really like Winnie as a nickname because it just makes me think of Winnie the Pooh.
