I honestly love Fay and Faye. I know some people think it's trashy and I totally understand why, but I adore it.

I totally adore it. In fact I like Fay, Faye, and even the ever elusive Fae.

Sounds pretty and whimsical but not too princess-y, so completely usable. Also, of course, automatically reminds me of Fay Wray.

I quite like it, it makes a nice middle, especially when there's two middle names. I'm not suggesting it, but I know a Faye. I'm not sure which spelling I prefer- Fay looks prettier but Faye seems more complete, whereas Fae, although gorgeous, is a teensy bit tacky.

I really like Fay, I do like it with an e whether as Fae or Faye, but Fay as it is I like a lot, people think its a bit old fashioned but I like it.

I've only ever known one Fay, and she was large and bossy. But, I know a Tessa Fay who's dainty and beautiful and a very talented pianist, which is a whole lot better!

I think that if you know or suspect that you might have a child with a particular temperament or physical features, it is wise to avoid names like Beauty or Modesty etc.

Aw, I do like the extra e- but I also like pretty much any variation on this name.

I really, really like Fay. It's so simply yet quirky and the meaning gives it whimsy. I would use it in a heartbeat if DH hadn't vetoed it years ago.

I especially love when I see it as a first name and not relegated to the middle, though it does shine nicely in the middle spot as well.

Faye Melisande was one of my top GPs for a while, but Fay Melisande would be just as lovely.

I have known a Fay and a Faye, both of whom were rather unpleasant people, so that has soured my perception of the name I'm afraid.

I do like the Fay Wray and Faye Dunnaway connections though.

Aw, My favourite all time name. If I ever have a female child I'm naming her this. I can remember liking Fay since I was a toddler! To me it's simple but elegant. Goes well with a lot of other names. Unusual for children but not unheard of. I couldn't suggest it enough, I just hope it doesn't become super popular :P
I go back and forth on the spelling between 'Fae' and 'Fay" . The Faye spelling seems unnecessary but I don't hate it.

My last name is Fey and my cousin used Faye as a middle name on her daughter.

Fay was the name of the harridan who sat behind the reception desk at my elementary school. Her appearance was not terribly different from that of Tammy Faye Bakker. So that's my image of Fay. Fay Wray, I know - but it's not, unless she is.

Fay is a beautiful, classy name.

I love the sound of Fay, although it's my third (maybe fourth) favourite spelling. Fae's my favourite, then Fey, then Fay and Faye are pretty much joint. But I just like the connection to faeries, which sounds kind of wishy-washy, but I really like the folklore, and dark side of supernatural stuff in general. I've gone off on a bit of a tangent, but, yeah, it's one of my favourite names.

That's my mothers middle name. The name is fine;short, simple, classic but just a little bit outdated. I see it more suitable as a middle name and unlike you, I prefer the Faye spelling. That or Fae
