Are there any nicknames you think work well as full names?
What about nicknames you love that you don't like/love any full names for?

I'm personally a fan of giving longer names and using nns, but I know not everyone feels that way. But there are a few names I think are fine standing alone:

Molly
Eliza
Kate
Betsy
Minnie - This is where I would be someone who is "trying to find a longer name" nn Minnie, but I haven't found any I actually like so...

Luke. I don't like Lucus or any form of it really. I love Ella as a stand alone, but I also love the more complete Isabella or Isabelle.

Not many at all. I suppose Polly and Sally would still be counted as nns, but I don't imagine modern Mary and Sarah people would use them. Polly seems more likely now as a nn for Paula or Pauline. Same with Robin - once a nn, now not.

Niko! We named our first son Niko - which would be a nickname for Nikolaus or Nikolai, but we just liked Niko.

Most nicknames/shortened names actually. It really, really, really annoys me when people love a nickname but desperately try to find a full name for it. I don't see the point. If you love, I don't know, Allie, and that's the only name you ever plan on using for your child, then just call her Allie! The argument for using a longer "full" name is often that at least the child will have a full name to fall back on, but I don't buy that. If Allie is just Allie or happens to have Alexandra on her birth certificate makes no difference what so ever, in my opinion.
Okay, end of rant.
Alec and Ned are two nicknames that I love.

I actually used to feel the same Re: Full name vs. Nickname.
After I met my husband, I realized that some cultures place huge importance on nicknames. Since then, I have recognize that there is something to having a name that is more personal than your full name, strictly for friends and family.
Still, I agree that if you are only looking for a longer name to satisfy your desire to call you kid X, than you really should just name your child X legally.
Though - I admit to being desperate to find the perfect full name for Min or Minnie at times. Mostly because DH won't let me just use Min or Minnie as a full name.

Min. My favorite nickname that also is a full name. I like Minnie too, but highly prefer the simple Min.
Kate springs to mind too.
Tons of names that are primarily nicknames work well as full names. The whole line of Elizabeth inspired shortenings works (i.e. Liza, Beth, Ellie, Liz, Eliza, Betsy, etc).

Kate quickly comes to mind. Lots of names started as nicknames, I guess- like Bethan. Originally a Welsh diminutive of Elizabeth, but I know more Bethans than I can count. I know a Rosie, full name, and it suits her well. Harry comes to mind.
Charlie. Charles I really don't like, I find it pretentious, somehow. Sounds... stuffy. I played with Charlot, but... I find it happens more often the other way round. Like, Madeleine. I like Lina, but people would so easily jump to Maddy.
