I LOVE the name Sunday nickname Sunny. I came across it looking for a name for our daughter, but I wasn't brave enough to use it and my husband hated it. Sunday has been one of my GP's ever since.

I hope no guilt would discount a name you really love, and that you (help?) bless a child by suggesting the name you really love.

I like it as a nickname for those names already mentioned below. I don't think I would have the guts to use it as a full name. It's very GP to me, but I would love to meet one.

I like hearing this name but wouldn't use it myself. IRL, I've only heard one male Sunny (short for Samaanaj) and three female Sunnys- spelled Sonny and Sunnie*2.

I like Sunny. I wouldn't use it, but I would love seeing it on someone else.

What about names that end in -son; Madison, Alison, Addison, ect. I know you're switcing the o to a u, but it's better than Sonny as a nn. Along the same line as Soleil- Soledad. I also agree that you could use it for any cheerful person, regardless of their given name.

As a nn for Summer, sure. :) As a nn in general, sure. As a given name? Eh... It just sounds like a nn to me.

I like it as a nickname. Possibly for Sunniva.

So sweet and bright. :) I wouldn't use it, but I do like it for someone else. I also really like Soleil. Maybe Soleil nn Sunny? Makes for a little less childish option later on...

I like Sun. Just Sun. Sunny could be a nickname, but it's not serious enough.

Love. Love love love. And I'm probably in the minority here, but I think it would work fine as full name. I have no problem picturing a Sunny of any age.

I love it as a nickname for Susannah, but I think Sunny is sort of insubstantial as a formal name on its own.I don't think Sunny even has to have any connection to the real given name, actually; I just really like Susannah.
