[Opinions] Re: twin girls, due in May
in reply to a message by Gina
Well, honestly I think if I had to grow up introducing myself as Zahara I'd hate it. I mean, it's lovely on paper, but I'd never use it. Zahra or Zara seems much more usable and would probably be what a Zahara ended up calling herself.
Hazel is a nice name, why would you give it the -elle ending? To me it looks overdressed and like it should be pronounced hay-ZELL. 2-syllable names ending in -el phonetically should have their stress moved to the second syllable when you change the ending to -elle. Try getting people to say hay-ZELL: or better yet, imagine it's a different -el name like Laurel or Jewel. If I spelled it Laurelle and Jewelle, would you not tend to cringe a bit too?
So, Zara and Hazel for me please. =) That's actually really nice, I like it.
Other pairs I think work:
Lilia & Samara
Isis & Amaya
Yesenia & Arielle
Sierra & Sage
Willow & Sienna
Yesenia & Londra
