Love it, always have. So much nicer than Ella, wonder why Ellen isn't more popular.

Ella's fine, imo, as a nn. It feels a bit too silly as a given name, though.

I don't know if there's any truth to it, but I heard somewhere that Ellen is less popular due to Ellen Degeneres and Ellen Page - that people think of it as a "lesbian" name.
